Did this movie get banned in China

I don't think it was banned in China, the commentary talks about how the Chinese film overseers (I don't know the real term) were pretty much okay with the whole China segment. Remember that each part was actually filmed in the country it was set in. Finally, the film isn't so much anti-communist as it is anti-Cultural Revolution. The current government would more or less just like to pretend the whole Cultural Revolution just didn't happen.
