so did Moses' mom die?

I'm a tad confused on this. We never see her again and she's slmost never mentioned either. Did she get killed or did she just up and die?

reply

Well the movie never officially says if she died or how she died. But I assumed that she passed away within the time Moses was prince.

...and the PR people are lying! And the lawyers are denying!...

reply

Well I don't think the life expectancy was very high during that time. Especially for slaves (as depicted in the movie) that were treated as badly as those people were.

reply

No, actually she didn't die, she's living in a c
ondo in Boca.

reply

Yeah Momma died, it's sad I would have liked to see her again; but I suppose they needed to weed her out to give more importance to Miriam.

reply

Yes, in the film it's implied that she simply died while he was a prince before he meets Miriam and Aaron. In actual scripture, she actually gets to raise Moses as something of a nursemaid for Pharoah's wife.

I remember two things very clearly: I am a great sinner and Christ is a great Savior.

reply

I think you mean EXACTLY as a nursemaid (Jewish midrash says that Moses refused to nurse from any Egyptian woman so they brought in a Jewess (Yocheved))

Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.

reply

How could Moses refuse if He were 3 months old????? that makes no sense! The Egyptian women called for a Hebrew to nurse Moses in the bible, not Moses Himself.

reply

It sounds like that story is only supposed to show us that Moses was so holy, that he could tell the difference between "pure" and "unpure" women already as a baby. But I would guess that this story was probably made up long after the Bible was written down.

Intelligence and purity.

reply

Or something about maternal instincts. Or maybe he was a fussy baby, IDK.

reply

I guess the same is true about Moses' step-mom, the queen. That would have added another layer of drama with Moses' return if she were still around, but it's probably good that they just focus on Rameses instead.
