Moses was a prick

He didn't start caring about the Jews until he found out he WAS one! That's just like a hardcore KKK remember suddenly having remorse for blacks because he found out he had black in his blood...

I'm too cool for a signature bitches!

Yeah, but at least he admitted it, though.

I agree. If he was a real prick he still wouldn't give a damn. A prick in his place would just feel even more special and arrogant that he had such a lucky escape. And not just a lucky escape but made Prince of the country! He was actually brave to do what he did. I mean how many in his place would risk leaving that rare life of luxury for the desert?

The OP is an idiot, obviously a troll with no sense of thought.

reply

Maybe but i think it was clear he questioned and felt some undue entitlement to his position.

reply

Yeah, it's just as you say. Pretty terrible and enforces the equally terrible message that "the only thing that matters is your blood".

He was flawed. Flawed protagonists are more interesting and easy to relate to. He wasn't perfect, but he admitted he didn't see the horror of slavery because he didn't want to see it. He never questioned the luxury he grew up in or the oppressive hierarchies that made it possible.

I love Skyler White.

He definitely was a prick at first, and I was glad Aaron called him out on it, even if I ultimately was on Moses' side. It was nice to hear a different perspective. Aaron and the other slaves must have been pissed having grown up in slavery, to see this guy coming from out of nowhere claiming to do God's work and getting the Hebrews even deeper in trouble, this guy who had never tasted that kind of suffering, who didn't give a damn about slaves and still wouldn't if Miriam hadn't revealed to him who he really was.

reply

Well, the only time in the movie where Moses truly was a prick was towards Miriam. But at least it's somewhat justified, due to her approaching him about his heritage quite directly. Do you honestly consider it strange that was baffled and angry about such an approach (despite that he shouldn't twist her arm like that).

Otherwise, though Moses was definitively a brash and had some hints of arrogance, he still had his good sides. He stood up for Rameses during the confrontation with their father. He prevented the guards from arresting Tzipporah when she rebelled and afterwards went to apparently apologize for it. And he even lured the guards so she could escape. Yeah, sure he made her fell into the pool, but it was still not as maliciously meant.

And that Moses didn't care for the Jews until he found that he was one doesn't make him a prick. It was actually his arc. He was supposed to not care to actually realize and suddenly care for them.

Moses may have been a prick, but he wasn't a boring troll like Szabu.
