that the best characther of the movie is Ulisses?? I mean, poor kid!! he has a sad mom who forces him to work, he has no money, an ill brother, has no father, and even he must show his naked body to gays in order to get some extra money (like he said in the pool scene) and yet, he still is some kind of an innocent boy, with a great sense of humor. I think he is one of the best reasons to see this movie, anyone agrees?

Yeah, too bad that Ulisses had such a terrible destiny, guess that was the whole point of this movie, sad destinies due to sad conditions of living.

Hello! Sorry for the lateness of my reply. No, I´m mexican, hovewer, here in Mexico we have a TV channel called "Canal Once", which is a very good and cultural channel that occasionally has special showings of movies around the world. One of the showings was called "Infancia es destino" (Childhood is destiny"), and they showed this movie along with "Prince of the streets".
Do not worry about the recent cinema in your country. Most of the recent mexican productions are so bad and rubbish, that you will snap by just seeing them!
