Cheryl Ladd's scenes cut? Jerry's hiring/firing for her show

something looked off with his firing from her show was not shown or explained. As if a scene was cut. All they showed was him acting strange at meeting with Ladd's character and her crew. I can't see Ladd wanting do this with 2 small scenes.
