she sucks in this movie i dont feel for her at all ,if they gave this role to someone like michelle peiffer or nicole kidman would have been so much better , on the other hand douglas is so good at being bad , i guess thats reason some people wanted him to get away with it he was so much fun to watch , while she sucks a big time

shareI think the OP is right...maybe with another actress I'd had some sympathy but I had none and felt like the bad "guy" one. I agree she was very good in "Talented Mr. Ripley" but other than that...meh...
A lot of people are mad about the ending and a lot are complaining about said complaining being misogynistic. But for me, she was a cheater, got away with it, and as OP stated MD plays such a bad guy good we just felt a little let down that he didn't get to grin and walk away with a fat cigar in his mouth...IMHO
