Was there ever a film where the husband gets away with it?(spoilers)

I was rooting for Steven throughout the whole movie.
But he died in the end and his wife got away with it.
Was there ever a film where the husband wins?

Take a look at "Match Point". It is not the same plot but it gives you the satisfaction this film doesn't (the husband after all of his... "hard work" is the one that survives).

As long as you believe it, it is true.

reply

Yes but actually if you look at it, it was the cheater (regardless of gender) who escapes. And just like this, the one who was involved in the affair (3rd party) ended up dead.

Yes. Crimes and Misdemeanors.

Which is also Woody Allen, but so far superior to Match Point, it's hard to believe it's the same director.

LOL good one!

The husband killed his wife's lover in "Unfaithful" and wasn't caught, at least not before the credits.

reply

Looked like things were closing in on them toward the end.

I'm going to watch this film tonight, a spoiler alert would've been appreciated lol

Secret Window. Although everybody knows what he did, he didn't get convicted.

I thought he got caught at the end ? Will have to rewatch it's been on lately

reply

It was more that he opened the avenue for another trial than he was "caught" - so the "jury is still out" on whether or not he will escape conviction. Not likely since the prosecutor knows what he knows this time.
