its a straight up action movie with a lead guy who can kill almost anyone he wants, and he is doing just to get his 70G back ?? wtf ?
the people here calling it a masterpiece makes me think they have never seen a good serious action movie in their life.
it doesnt deserve 7. but most probably 5.5 or something.
the story isnt original or strong enough to be glued at the screen.
its all bad-ass hero killing the bad guys movie.
dont go over the hype.

Yeah this movie is overrated.

I've been hearing about it for years and when I finally watched it... Talk about underwhelming. The entire movie feels like it was improvised by a 15 year old film student taking media in highschool.

I don't know why people like this movie, it doesn't even have any message or point. It's not clever or original in any way, it wants to be, but it ain't.

Both versions of the movie sucked, they lead nowhere.
The entire movie is like... OMG GUYS HE'S DOING ALL THIS FOR 70 GRAND LOL! THAT'S AMAZING AND PECULIAR! CAUSE IT'S 70 GRAND! AND HE'S DOING ALL THIS! LOLOLOLOL

Agreed. It was OK and watchable, but that's about it. If it didn't have that ridiculous lucy lieu or whatever it would be better.

I'm a big fan of Mel but I never cared for this.I'm not sure if it's the actual film or the blue tinted colour of the film.

I definetly prefer Get The Gringo.

Oh yep I do despise that blue-tint thing - and you see it more n more these days. Uggh.

Agree, if Lucy Liu had just been left as the S&M hooker, it wouldn't have been to over the top. There is a fine line that once you it cross you loose credibility.

I found it just plain tedious – a by-the-book thriller with no surprises or genuine tension whatsoever. Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson did this much better decades ago, and Jason Statham does it (slightly) better today. 4/10 stars from me.

I like it, but I don't love it. I didn't like any of the characters, other than Rosie and her dog. I kinda liked the blue tint on the film, captured that dark tone of the film.
