Enough posts about the $70G (spoilers)

Seriously, no one gets this? it was not about the money. Never about the money.

He simply wants to get the point across that he is not to be messed with. Getting his money back is justice. Not even killing his wife or Val would have been justice. They were thieves who stole from a thief.

His real aim was to prove to the Outfit that they couldn't just run over him. If they had just given him the money, there would have been nothing more. But each person in the chain of mobsters, starting with Val and Stegman and ending with Bronson, tries to mess with him or eliminate him instead of giving him his due.

In the end, he has to kill them all to keep them from coming after him.

I think the real point is that he is angered that they would try to kill him for the $70K, since it really isn't that much. He is trying to prove a point, not get rich.
