A stupid question perhaps, but I've always wondered where she was going at the end of the movie. She seemed to be trying to hitchhike somewhere.
Was she going back to her mother's place?
Perhaps this was never explained, but I was just curious to see what others thought.
i dont think so,if you remember she hated her mother,i think she was going to get a new job in a new town away from it all, thats what i think.

She even says "I thought the whole idea was I know what happens next," but clearly she doesn't.
I have known a girl quite a lot like Dede. In this situation she will have just moved on to the next place, returning from time to time to try to scam money.
