Just asking because I always wanted to know what "noir" is...

My understanding of film noir is that it's mostly low key B&W movies with great contrasts that assault the audience-example of that would be the old movie "Big Combo" from the 50's. It's a very hard genre' to define and very expressionistic. I would say this film is not in that category-'dark comedy' perhaps?

no, it's what we call a "black comedy" for another fine example, check out "House of Yes" and "Very Bad Things"

For another black comedy, try Eating Rauol, a comedy about ambitious restauranteurs who must result to cannibalism to get their new restaurant started.

No, just a black comedy. For a recent 'noir' movie, think of L.A. Confidential. Noir has a certain tone to it, a certain vintage-y style and look.
