How can that be?
His daughter would have to be in her mid fifties or early sixties for that to be workable. She looks to be in her late twenties early thirties.

Ironically, the actress who plays Hannah is about the right age, 37 when this movie came out. It's the actress who plays Francis who throws it off: She was 57. So the fifty years line doesn't make any sense with her.
shareThis line never made sense. If they divorced 50 years earlier (and he says they literally haven't SEEN each other in 50), then they're daughter would have to be AT LEAST 50. Obviously the actress playing the daughter is approximately 20 years younger than that. As this is such an obvious goof, I instead have assumed that Felix was just exaggerating the 50 years in his anger. Simon frequently exaggerates heavily in his writing.
