Why were they laughing??!!

During the seminar that Dr. Joley and Rodney were speakers at George and that young guy start laughing. Why? Did I miss something?

I thought they were laughing because Dr. Joley said that musical theatre was 'Frankly dangerous'. Then they got started and couldn't stop!

I think they were laughing at how ridiculously pretentious Jolie's talk was.
