Question about homosexuality

If this is the case that gay guys

would act like women,

would dress like women,

talk like women,

happen to be fond of home decor, fashion, cooking, Martha Stuart, etc.

wish to have a female body,

and feel attracted to men,......

So, isn't it heterosexuality after all?

reply

It sounds like you have a question about transexuality, not homosexuality. Your bizarre hypothetical situation is not "the case" for gay men, who are simply men who are attracted to men. Any sartorial or nutritional interests are completely irrelevant to whether or not someone is gay.

Let's take some examples from "Sex and the City". (Similar examples can be seen in "NYPD blue" also.)

In Russian's apartment didn't Stanford come upstairs to the ladies and said, "I can't pretend any more that I’m one of them." Didn’t he mean he is not one of the men?

Didn't Carrie call him, "Miss Blatch"?

Wasn't the allegedly gay guy (Charlotte once dated) very interested in cooking, fashion, Cher, etc? Didn't Charlotte interpret those as "woman" characteristics? Didn't he then freak out on a mouse and prove himself gay?

Don't Stanford and other gay guys in this show wear colourful flashy clothes very different from hetero guys?

Don't they display "feminine" body gestures?

Don't they indicate they are women trapped inside man's body?

Are they all trany?

reply

Are they all trany?
They are all fictional. Try dealing with some actual human beings instead of imaginary characters. The only thing you need to know about gay men is that they are men who are attracted to other men. It doesn't matter if a gay man dresses up as a woman, or has what you might consider to be a high voice or an interest in cooking (cooking! for god's sake, plenty of different people are interested in cooking!) or whatever else you, in your narrow view of the world, have decided is a "women's interest;" he is still a man. You must have an extremely small range of life experiences if you think that no men, straight or gay, are interested in cooking or fashion, or are anything but stereotypes of hyper-masculinity, but there are as many different types of gay men as there are types of straight men—including gay men who are as stereotypically "masculine" as your average Marine.

I don't know anything about Sex and the City, but I do know that you can't draw conclusions about real people based on fake ones.

reply

LMAO, your experience is watching Sex and the City?

Jesus Christ.

reply

Uh not all gay guys act like women, not all gays guys are flamboyant and dress and talk that way, not all gay guys love any or all of home decor, fashion, cooking, or martha stuart, not all (or any unless they are or somewhat are transsexual) wish to have a female body. You shouldn't rely on stereotypes so much, especially ones that come from SATC where obviously the gay stereotype is going to be played out. And if a gay man displays any of these characteristics it doesn't mean he has them all.

reply

Your stereotyping and full of *beep*

All gay men don't act like ,dress like or talk like women , in fact a very small percentage do and FYI I know more straight men who act fem than gay men.

I'm not into home decor or fashion ,i don't cook or am I into show tunes.
Why the hell would you say a gay man would want a woman's body. I like being a man who likes men and I'm masculine and love football and outdoors. i dont wear suits and ties , I wear jeans and tshirts and drive a pickup . end of story

"So, a thought crossed your mind? Must have been a long and lonely journey"

reply

I'd like to add that I never feel more masculine than when I am having sex with another guy.

Oh, and by the way, a lot of "effeminate" men are actually heterosexual...

reply

I fear you're trying to draw too many generalizations from too little data.

Are you sure your conclusions are from knowing real gay men and not from seeing the fabulously flamboyant stereotypes in too many sitcoms and movies?

Very few of the gay men of my acquaintance display the effeminate characteristics you describe — least of all wishing to have a female body.

Girls can wear jeans and cut their hair short, wear shirts and boots 'cause it's okay to be a boy. But for a boy to look like a girl is degrading 'cause you think that being a girl is degrading. But secretly you'd love to know what it's like -- wouldn't you? -- what it feels like for a girl.
