Can someone help me remember this movie?

I think I remember seeing this movie back in the late 80's. It was about a farmer gang made up of three boys and their father who always wore overalls and they drove around the country robbing and killing people. At one point he even made all of them get a tattoo of a corn stalk on their arms. One of the boys then decides that he has had enough and makes a run for it, and winds up meeing and falling in love with a prostitute. Both of them then go on this "Dick and Jane" run thoughout the country, robbing banks. Eventually the father catches up with them and makes him re-join the gang, along with the prostitute in tow.

Any ideas?

Except that the movie wasn't made until 1998.

You're thinking of a different movie...this one's about 4 brothers (and a safe cracker) who rob banks and then a train: the biggest train robbery in history I've read. They get caught though. Supposedly the Newton Boys never killed anyone. It's basically a light-hearted drama: doesn't take itself too seriously. Along the lines of "The Sting."

I know it's not "The Newton Boys". I'm seeing if anyone can remember the one I described.

I know it's been almost 3 years since you asked this.
Sounds like your talking about "Thieves like us" 1974...I remember them wearing overalls

It's made in 1998 so unless you had a time machine it's safe to asume that the movie you saw was something else.

They've done countless of movies like this with good ol' boys charming the viewers while robbing banks so it was probably another one of these.
