pg or g

imdb says its G but MPAA says its PG?

reply

It's G.

It was made "PG" because of the 2 words "Cross-Dress"

Eight divided by one-half equals four squared!

reply

I'm pretty sure it was made PG because of the (non-bloody) violence and very light sexual jokes (ex: Mulan's bathtime while in the army)

I think it's ridiculous to rate it that because of those mind you, but that's probably why it was changed.

If you're happy and you know it, go sit in the corner and think about your life.

It's G. It has some intense battle scenes (the main theme of the movie is war after all) but nothing most kids couldn't handle.

reply

G but it does have some intense battle scenes, and at one point Mulan gets wounded and blood is visible. So yeah it's a high G, best suited for older kids.

Didn't realize I'd already posted on this thread. Goes to show how many of these things I write on!

reply

Not to mention the thousands of dead bodies (both of men and horses) that are shown at the burned down village scene.

Though I think this movie came out back when movie ratings were still pretty lenient, especially for animated movies (Hunchback of Notre Dame, anyone?). If Mulan were re-released today, it would get a PG rating easily.

The MPAA does not say it's PG. You must have been looking at an incorrect source.
