Thandie Newton was so hot.
John Woo did a great job filming Thandie Newton . how come she looked much worse after this?

i pretty much agree with the OP as she was some of the reason that this was the best MI film. her and Cruise worked great on screen together. (not to mention the great motorcycle action scenes near the end which i got a great feeling from when i first seen it... the film just has a lot of nice 'moments' in it ;) )
and this is the only film to where i really NOTICE Thandie Newton because even though i seen her in other films. this is easily the one that stands out for her.

Thandie Newton is an amazing acting talent. Her persona now seems to be playing the neurotic wife of ambitious husbands ("Crash" and "The Pursuit of Happyness"), but in this one she is a likable character.
Live Long and Prosper!
Thandie Newton is amazing in this film and she is drop dead gorgeous. And she has great chemestry with both Tom Cruise and Druggary Scott. I think John Woo and Tom Cruise wanted her to be portrayed as the absolute stunner that she is for this film. I think Thandie's beauty is downplayed in films now. She looks great in RocknRolla.
shareThandie Newton was the best and perhaps the only good thing in this movie. She is a ravishing woman. I love her.
Keri Russell and Michelle Monaghan are way more beautiful than Thandie. She is hotter than the asian woman in MI:3.
shareI was reading all the hate posts about this film and wondered when someone was going to talk about Thandie! Her scenes are totally hot, from the first scene with Cruise--what a lucky guy!--to the driving scene, etc. I know, there are 100 people standing around and lights and people yelling directions, and they are actually working, but I would not mind the hard "work" it would be to be lying on top of Thandie or having her lie on top of me while spouting witty lines. I thought they had chemistry in the film, but who knows? I guess that's why they call it "acting," right?
Oh, and for all professional film critics out there, try watching "Popeye" if you want to see a really bad film. This was an action popcorn movie. And, to those of us who aren't 12, the MI TV series was not always fantastic every week, either, but it was darn entertaining most of the time. I don't remember being ticked off that it wasn't "realistic" like, say, uh, "Mr. Ed" or "The Brady Bunch." Idiots.
You are right, Thandie is beautiful but John Woo made her look like a supermodel. She hasn't looked this good since.
She does look nice in Interview with the Vampire. Probably where Tom Cruise first noticed her.
