Is there any character development in this movie?

Who develops? Joe? Jill? Gregg? If they did develop, then I must've missed it somehow?

The villains sidekick does, as does Harry kind of.
Strange it would be these two in the whole film though.

SnakesOnAnAfricanPlain thinks biscuits are racist, homophobic and sublimely stupid.

Who cares? Character development can be an interesting thing in some movies, but there are many great, even classic, movies without it. It's not the only thing that makes a good movie/book.

You definitely missed it.

Jill... daughter of animal advocate, grows up to fill her mother's shoes. Does everything in her power to save Joe. Has never been in love until now. Has never lived outside of Africa until now.

Bill Paxton's character... animal conservancy expert. Collects DNA of endangered species. Discovers Joe. Realizes his rarity and does everything he can to save Joe. Falls in love with Jill. Saves the day. All around good guy.

Bad guys as described in this post.

Director of conservancy... moron who knows little about animals. Only concerned with pleasing the board members who are primarily concerned with fund raising.

I could go on but there was as much character development in this movie as most other Hollywood fare. Try coffee during next showing.

"I'm not a complete idiot... some parts are missing!"
