Goodbye, IMDB message boards

It was great knowing you. I have so many fond memories, from the ridiculous trolls, to the heated debates. Truly an era gone by.

I've been posting on these boards for a long, long time. Throughout that time, my main goal was to help people come to a better appreciation and understanding of Middle-earth in particular and Tolkien in general. All things considered, I think I've done a pretty good job at meeting that goal. Even so, it's a sad thing when something you've been a part of for so long goes away, especially since this has really been my only spot for holding forth about Tolkien-related things.

I've had fun discussing things with the various people that come here, especially the regulars like Magpie, Dijomaja, and Harold of Whoa. (I'm terrible with names, so please don't take offense if I left out some folks.)

Take care, all, and may the stars shine upon your faces.

I second that. I came here as a Tolkien novice, and the discussion in these forums, the deep knowledge base, as well as the friendship, have all served to lead me on a very satisfying journey.

You have taught me many things, Tuor, and set me on the road to learn more on my own - and maybe even to pay it forward to a few newbies. Thank you, Sir! I will miss you.

Gosh darnit...I was just getting started here, too.

You've done a marvelous job! Often I thought I could struggle with an answer ... or just wait to see if Tuor dropped by and answered better than I ever could.

I'll shout out to moundshroud and Otaku, as well (in addition to Harold and dijomaja)... although I'm sure a few others will pop in my head over the next few weeks.

Thanks for the kind word. At least I can get my fix of Middle-earth discussions at TORn.
