What is the object that slides out of Big Chris' sleeve near the end...

...when he walks into Hatchet Harry's shop (after everyones been shot) and he sees Tom there holding the 2 shotguns. Big Chris drops the duffel bag he's holding (containing the cash) and something slides out of his sleeve.

It isn't a pistol, or sawed off shotgun. It looks like an old scratched and beaten up metal rod or something.

WTF is it?

That's exactly what it is.

I always thought it was some kind of black jack or club that he used for defensive purposes, or when he was collecting debts. A metal rod would make a lot of sense as well. Big Chris didn't seem like he was into guns or knives. He preferred using brute force or blunt instruments to get his point across.

I used to be darker, then I got lighter, then I went dark again.

Is that a Bill Callahan lyric I see? x

It sure is. Had to change my sig to a Leonard Cohen lyric in light of his recent passing, but I'm still a huge fan of Bill Callahan's music.
