THE MOVIE THAT KILLED VAN DAMME CAREER!!

It's so sad because Van Damme was a good actor on Hollywood. Without this piece of trash who only made 1/4 money of the budget of this movie, Van Damme will still be on theaters right now!

Shame on you Tsui Hark, you never took time, always too fast with you're movies. Die in heel and don't do a Van Damme flick anymore (even if In Hell was not too bad).

Kudos to Tsui Hark!! It's not director's fault that Americans are a bit slow for such movies. This film is amazing. And You die in heel and never watch HK movies again. Have a nice day.

I've seen plenty of good HK movies. This ain't one of them.

Poorly Lived and Poorly Died, Poorly Buried and No One Cried

You guys are both wrong.STREET FIGHTER killed his carrer in my book.Every movie after it tanked in the US.If anything Knock off delivered on an action level.

I think Knock off is just your everyday, big-budget,action flick. With some truly mean photography and style. Not one of Harks best movies. But it is never boring.

No your very wrong, Street Fighter did not kill his career, it made over 100 million, well above it's budget. To add to that, Timecop and Sudden Death both came out AFTER Street Fighter, and Timecop was his most successful film. I'm big Van Damme fan but I have to be honest, Knock Off was crap, big time, the dubbing was terrible.

crazy or what knock off was decent atmost 4 or 5/10. But street fighter althou it had made over 100 Million people though nwent in the movie becouse of it`s name and therefore it sol good but the Movie itself and that is without a doubt a movie which could e bottom 100 in IMDB. and also the quest was just awful those movies gave Van damme a bad reputation. Knock off is not nearly as bad as those movies.

Knock off is a great action flick! TH has only made good movies with VD.None of His movies "ended" anything! VD will still make movies for years to come, hopefully with TH:)

Have u ever felt the fighting presence of another?

Universal Soldier: The Return killed his acting career. knock off was at least fun the return was not even that.

It says the movie did 44 million.
I wouldn't call that a flop or hit.

reply

No, it was Maximum Risk first that bombed even before Knock Off. And then another flop - Double Team which is a shame because it seemed like it should’ve been his big come back after being absent from the silver screen for a while. Too bad, because Maximum Risk and Double Team were fun movies.

So The Quest seems like was his last successful film before all those flops.
