This is my favorite Van Damme movie. Everything was great except the acting. And I think it's a good thing that it had a slight Jackie Chan feel.

AREN'T THESE SWEET?

I watched almost all of the Van Damme movies throughout the late 80s and 90s, and this was by far the worst to me as a Van Damme fan. I thought it was way too silly and not hardcore enough. The plot about the exploding jeans was ridiculous. But I guess I see what you're saying about how it's like a Jackie Chan movie. If this is the worst, then Street Fighter is definately the 2nd worst. The part where M.Bison flies is as crazy as the exploding jeans.

I think Timecop and Sudden Death are his best "new movies," although I stopped watching them after Knock Off disappointed the heck out of me. If any of his recent movies are any good, I'd like to know about it.

I actually liked this movie as well. Special effects were crappy though, But I was actually pretty entertained watching this movie.

I love it when Hollywood actors star in Hong Kong flicks. This movie is a true gem, some to be treasured forever.

Whilst Kickboxer will forever remain the greatest Van Damme movie of all time, I still really enjoyed Knock Off. The direction and editing were a bit mad granted, but I thought the story was absolutely hilarious. Van Damme's got a real sense for comedy that really shines here. The soundtrack was good too. I had that "It's a Knock Off" song from the end credits stuck in my head for days after buying this.
Anyway, my favourite part of the whole movie was most definitely the cameo by Dennis Chan, who so excellently played Xian in Kickboxer. It was great to see the two of them on screen together again after so many years. I'd much rather if the script had been re-written in such a way as to allow Chan an Van Damme to be the leads, as they have much better chemistry than Van Damme and Schneider do. Top movie.

Hahahahahahaha...

Tsui...
Hark... Sucks! Haaaaaaaahahahahahaha!
You don't think it has anything to do with Jean Claude?

It's been a long time since I've seen this movie but I remember thinking it was the best Van Damme film ever. When I was young and stupid I actually watched and enjoyed Van Damme films. If I remember correctly, this movie came out AFTER his downward slide into pure crapdom. He is a laughably bad actor with false martial arts credentials. Van Damme fans should be grateful Tsui Hark wasted his time trying to make an entertaining vehicle for his lame ass.

Já musim souhlasit že tohle opravdu je jeden z Harkovo nejlepších a velice duležitých filmu v jeho kariéře.

There's only one Asian director in Hollywood who truly sucks, John Woo!!!
Those T.Hark's two US little films are by far more sophisticated and better than anything Woo wooed out in America.

Indeed, i love Knock Off.

Woo sucks? Man oh man, you have NOT sen The Killer, Hard Boiled, etc... I guess you are also one who loved War Of the Worlds...

Anyways, Knock Off is a cool movie, it was NOT to be taken seriously, just some good fun...

I liked this movie )

The trick is to not take everything too seriously. Enjoy it for what it is. An hour and a half of non-stop fun and zany humour.

@ shaofutzer

False martial arts credentials? Boy you have absolutely no Idea and I am no JCVD fan at all. One thing is he thinks he is the best and that makes him look like a fool. But believe me he was one of the top european Karatekas in junior league. He even did a lot of Kumite. One thing is that when he was 17 or 19 he gave it up to go to the US to be an actor. And he trained on his own but just so to stay in shape.

But why the hell do I even bother? I loved this movie. It's a *beep* movie yes- but it is just effing amazing.
