Is this worst movie ever made?

I think this is the worst movie ever made. It is remarkably egregious! What do you think?

I saw this movie on TV last saturday when I was hungover and needed to settle into a good movie. This one started out mildly intriguing, and pretty serious, like when they pull the little girl from the river. However, it just spun out of control and got more and more unbelievable and contrived, like when Benning paints all over the house, and when the apples appear in the kitchen, then bubble up from the sink. What was with all that sh*t?

I could barely watch. It was making my hangover worse, so I left right about the time the husband finds the dog tied up in the hotel room. And so it goes with crappy thrillers.

reply

I think so, too. I saw this last night and said the same thing after watching it.

It is. I have seen crappy movies in my life, but this takes the cake. I remember seeing it when it first hit HBO and being nauseated, disturbed and just pissed off. Usually if a movie evokes these sort of emotions, it's a success. There was no deep thought or reflection after seeing this, I just remember thinking it was the worst piece of tripe I ever forced myself to finish.

Alrightythen!

I have to say I don't have strong feelings about this film, but I did enjoy it. The novel by Bari Wood is completely butchered, but the photography, score by Elliot Goldenthal, and Annette Bening are all fantastic. The Robert Downey character gets shortchanged a bit but I do not think this is the worst film ever made. Watch it again. Oh, and by the way, "Cool World" is the worst film ever made.

reply

I thought that was Waterworld.

I actually enjoyed this film, a lot, especially the scene where Vivian "shows" Claire how to get out of the asylum. I loved it :) the weirdness surrounding it.

I think that this movie asks a lot of the viewer, you need to understand the movie in order to appreciate it, therefore watching it just once isn't enough. So if you've only seen it one time you shouldn't judge it as the "worst movie ever made", if you've watched it more than one time then you are more quallified to say wheather or not it's a good movie. I agree that "Cool World" is the worst movie ever made.

reply

The spectacular visuals alone prevent In Dreams from being the worst movie ever.

reply

The worst movie ever is "The Passion of the Xhrist". Pure sludge.

Nothing exists more beautifully than nothing.

I don't think you know how to use the word egregious

reply

Like Zasu Pitts in rags and the language she used. Too obvious, I guess.

Nothing exists more beautifully than nothing.

reply

Is that like "Like NAPOLEAN in rags and the language that he used"??

"I think this is the worst movie ever made. It is remarkably egregious! What do you think?"

Oooh, who's been reading a dictionary? Seriously though, if you really think this is remotely near the worst film ever then you clearly haven't watched a lot of films.

reply

While In Dreams is terrible, I wouldn't go so far as calling it the worst film ever made. I'm just wondering why normally wonderful actors--Aidan Quinn, Stephen Rea, Robert Downey Jr. (okay, so he was probably high at the time)--would agree to acting in this piece of *beep*

reply

Probably because Neil Jordan is a genius that was coming off a run of 5 fantastic movies in a row.

You saw Dingleberries?

reply

It was interesting, to say the least. Not the worst.

reply

wow. you honestly think this is the worst movie ever made. i have to completely disagree with you.
i do agree with the fact that one has to watch it more than once though
