My thoughts.

Well-told though it may be, something just doesn't sit right with me about the life of a notorious criminal being depicted in what basically amounts to a 'sympathetic' way... 3/10.

Spot on Howlin Wolf.Cahill was a nasty piece of work and the very fact that three movies based on his life have been made is a disgrace.John Boorman and co should apologize to cahills victims, the gardai and the irish public.Somehow I dont think they will though.

in fairness the way you go on about it you swear it was an affront to the nation. though martin cahill was a scumbag that does not make his life story less of a brillent story that was there for the telling. any time ive ever heard anyone talking about this film it has been positive feedback so there cant be that many irish people that were offended by it.

I dont believe its an affront to the nation rather i feel its wrong to embrace as a hero a thug like cahill. Why do Irish people always subconciously take the criminals side ahead of the cops ? is it something to do with being colonised ?
