'The General' book

Being a hardcore Brendan Gleeson fan, I bought the VHS tape and enjoyed his performance. Then, hoping there would be an interview with him on the DVD, I bought it also. After watching it several times, I bought the book through Amazon to learn about Cahill first hand.
On the internet, I had read in one interview that a child had thought Cahill to be alive when he spotted Brendan during the filming of the movie.
Brendan had the front area of his head shaved off, to look more like the criminal.
When receiving the book a few days ago, I was hoping they would show photos of Ireland's criminal. The first picture in the book's center showed Brendan standing there. I thought 'How neat--they are showing Gleeson in his protrayal.' Wrong... it was Martin Cahill in the photograph. Wow... what a physical similarity in the face. No wonder the kid thought Brendan was Cahill. Boorman made a good choice for the film character.

Another book to read is "The Irish Game" by Matthew Hart. It talks about the Vermeer's theft on a prior occasion as well as Cahill's theft of it and other noted art thefts. The book is less than 200 pages and quick read. The book goes into more detail about the theft at Russborough and gives detail of what the police did to recover the paintings. One of the factual differences is that Cahill was killed while driving by guy on a motorcycle instead of in his driveway.
