Sorry have to add this correction.

It has not been proven he has done anything wrong.

The Sunday World (ok not very reliable tabloid but...) claim that crime correspondent Williams had been subjected to a campaign of intimidation which Garda sources believed was conducted by Foley. A hoax bomb was planted under Williams’ car outside his home in November 2003 and he, his family and 150 neighbors had to be evacuated while the Army carried out a controlled explosion on the device. Williams is now under 24-hour Garda protection.
Williams had been almost exclusively writing about Foley and his gang prior to this incident.

Just to let you know all of Cahills old gang are still active. Foley has survived at least two assassination attempts and is the leader of the biggest drugs gang in Crumlin, Shavo Hogan was killed a few yrs back in a row over drugs, Cahills brother in law, John Foy in law has just been arrested while trying to rob a bank in Crumlin, George "The Penguin" Mitchell is currently Irelands biggest drug trafficker and is based in Amsterdam while his business partner Eamon Daly is based in Brussels. there all still out there and up to their old tricks!

Just to add or update as tomdaly1 post is full of rubbish,George was never part of his gang, sure they pulled a stroke or two maybe together (all gangs did it in the 80's), but George was in jail for the most part of Martins rein. FOLEY is not or ever was the biggest Drug Dealer in Crumlin as that title goes to fat Freddie since late 01 (cats and dogs on the street even know that) and before him Meehan as do you forgot who shot foley in the arse and then let rip with an uzi a few months later at him ?

As for calling Foley his right hand man lol as he was never that due to his stunts over the years and the heat he was bringing on the gang as that title belong to Eamonn Daley who the part Noel Curley is based on and with very good reason and jack all to do with the crime element, but a massive personal favour both Eamonn and his wife did for Martin's younger brother who was one of the original heroin addicts from the 80's that I did have some sort of respect for compare to the modern junkies who know all the dangers, where as he was part of a generation that sadly did not. The then Irish Government of 90/91 have to take their fair share of blame as well as they did tell a generation of young people to come down off E's you had to smoke heroin thinking this would kill off the new craze as it was then but with sad and dire consequences, well done Albert Reynolds former Taoiseach alleged leader of Eire.
