How Was Opening Shot of City Filmed?

It appears to be from a helicopter swooping in, except ...

1) Too narrow, trees and buildings on either side (blade clearance) and

2) Too low. Camera reaches street level, going under power lines.

Kinda looks CGI, so I'd guess that.

Yeah from memory. Haven't seen it in years. But I think you're right. The start from memory had a bit of CGI style to it.

Love the Paramount intro transition into the opening. So freaking cool.

Yeah. There is a statue right in the middle of an intersection. CGI.
