Surprisingly enjoyable

Hard Rain was on TVthe other night and I was genuinly shocked to like it.

I think people who lay into this film are just being a bit snobby. It's just a way to pass an evening after work or whatever. You don't have to think or ponder your existence, it just wants to flash infront of your eyes and then go.

I mean, it's not trying to win oscars or anything, it's purposefully toungue in cheek without being cheesy like the Mummy or something. It's Big Fat dribbly stupid fun and there should be more films like it.

I remember watching this when I was about 17 and really liking it. I saw it for the first time since then tonight and I still think that it is ok. The characters, esp Minnie Driver's are one dimensional and the writing isn't all that great, but it is fun and I like the action scenes and to be honest with you I could sit and watch Christian Slater all night.

I actually consider this as one of the best action films ever made. Its just VERY underrated. The acting is solid (you can`t go wrong with this cast), the action scenes are quite unique, it has originality, an interesting plot and a few nice twists added into the plot. All of these ingredients are VERY hard to find in a action film. I mean, when was the last time we saw a jetski chase in a movie? We always get the usual car chase. **yawn**

And with all of the natural disasters that have been accuring lately, it just makes this movie even better.

I liked it and would recommed it to anyone that wants to see something a little different and unique.

I saw it too on TV about a week ago for the first time, thought it was a well made movie, with enough plot twists and storylines to keep your interest going (could not work out though how Morgan Freeman came to have such a diverse "gang")

I agree with everybody. I was one of the few who saw this movie in the theatre, and had a grand old time. It was fun to see Morgan Freeman as a bad guy (sort of). The movie also reminded of other movies where characters were thrown together and forced to trust eachother and/or switch allegiances.
I'd recommend this to anyone who wants something at least a little unconventional.

I would have to agree with all of you. I love disaster movies. I love action movies. And this is both rolled into one big rollercoaster ride. And I love the entire cast. They all did an awesome job. Morgan Freeman is one of my favorite actors and Christian Slater, well who can't love that man? This is one of those movies that I can watch over and over again and never get tired of it.

I don't understand why they don't get the credit they deserve for this film. It's just a fun movie that is meant to entertain.

No, I just couldn't get over the way the water levels kept changing. And why did everyone look so clean when flood water, as we all know, is VERY dirty. You couldn't suspend disbelief at all!

reply

Yes and they would have been so cold and shivering after diving in the water and wearing wet clothes for that length of time in the rain but I did enjoy the movie.
