This is my own personal opinion. All opinions are subjective.
Halloween H20 is the only one that is watchable, it's a cat and mouse thriller that isn't over the top. All the others are way too extreme and unwatchable.
True, too bad it borrowed so heavily on Scream and not the original's formula for success. That and the crappy mask, this might have been the best sequel. II fell into the slasher/gore/body count problem, III was a decent stand alone B movie that didn't need the Halloween name to be a cult favorite, 4 was a bit to angsty and Lifetime movie material with the teen love triangle.
% was way too rushed amd unpolished, 6 had too many versions and none of them good. Pleasence dying didn't help. Resurrection tried to cash in on the hip actress and actor fad, which was out of place. Plus the whole webcam thing.
Remake and sequel were Zombie-fied and not in a good way, though the first was better than the second. So they all had issues.

I personally think they disrespected the Scream movies on purpose, i'm not a fan of the Scream movie series anymore, but in the Halloween H20 scene where the girls are getting ready to go out they have Scream 2 playing on their TV, it trivialises the Scream Flicks and sends the message that those movies ain't all that and that the Halloween movie series is top dog.
