why does it have 3 names?

Why is it called
"THE HAIRY BIRD" in Australia
"STRIKE" in the US
"ALL I WANNA DO" in the UK

reply

Blame Miramax. The story's in Peter Biskind's book "Down and Dirty" which is about independent movie companies esp. Miramax. They bought it for US distribution when it was called The Hairy Bird and demanded the title change to Strike even though the filmmakers didn't like it. So Canada went ahead and released it as Strike, as well as UK.In French Canada the title translates as "Girls Make the Rules"! Australia refused the name change when they bought the rights for their territory. So they released it as The Hairy Bird. Then Miramax decided the new title didn't work and changed it AGAIN. So it came out in the US as "All I Wanna Do." Eventually the name Strike was discontinued in Canada after the video release ran its course so now you can only buy it as All I Wanna Do. Confusing enuff for you?

In the USA... to confuse the issue even More, 'TH!S' one of the Digital Sub channels is airing it as 'Strike!' in the US... and at one point a few years back I swear I saw it on a local Affiliate as Hairy Bird...
