This film has aged nicely

Watching it right now and goddamn this movie is really beautifully shot and well acted.

Yes it has! And it certainly was well made, through and through, with a fantastic cast that all seemed to fit together perfectly!

I remember watching it when it first came out, also bought the DVD cause I knew it was one that I would see several more times in my life. In fact...I just watched it a couple night's ago, myself.

This is definitely one of those films that's gonna continue aging well for a very long time...I just know it.

This is a serious problem movie for me. I can't recall how many times I've seen it. And I agree, it has aged well. Everything about it is just right; from the casting, the cinematography, the score.

I ask myself why I do this. Why do I watch it knowing full well I'm gonna be a sobbing mess at the end.

Just watched it again for the first time in years and it had me in tears. Made the mistake of watching with my daughter though. I had forgotten all the profanity and how graphic that one execution was. Brought up a conversation about the death penalty though.

I agree... I just re-watched it again and it has to be in my top ten (maybe top 5) of re-watchable films.

That being said, I did notice one thing that didn't jump out at me before. When doing the execution on the Indian guy there was a very large amount of water that literally poured down around his head and face. Even if no one else saw it before it was too late (of course they should have all been watching Percy like a hawk) I just can't believe that Harry wouldn't have noticed a dry sponge when he put the electrical cap on Delacroix.

Not sure why I never noticed that before... but still, one of my favorite films.
