Where in London were Jewish location scenes filmed?

Does anyone know where in London the Jewish community scenes were filmed? I am fascinated by the subterranean-looking streets and can't think of anyplace that looks like that. The credits just say it was shot in London. But where? Or was it all a set? Thanks.
