Lovely Christmas morning and no dog. Is he in a kennel back in NYC?

Actually they did show the dog during Christmas. After Anna and Ben open presents with Jackie upstairs we see them opening presents downstairs they show Jackie sitting in a chair and petting the dog who is sitting next to the chair.

I don't remember there being a dog in the movie

Isabel gives the kids a puppy at the beginning of the movie... Anna wants to name the dog after Isabel because it "looks and smells like her [Isabel.]

And yes, a larger, grown up dog is there at Christmas next to Jackie. The dog (still as a puppy) is in the missing in the park/park photo shoot scene too.
