Jackie: A nasty person

There was no doubt that Jackie was a nasty person. She was nasty to Isabel as well as Luke. She was also rude to the oncologist. Making fun of Isabel about her big teeth and talking about Isabel as if she's stupid. There's two sides to everything.

it takes a very big person to admit their mistakes and do their best to fix things. by the end of the movie you can tell she has accepted isabel, and has entrusted her children to her.

we are all human, we have all acted like poo to someone, even if it was just once in our lives.

Jackie accepted Isabel partially because Jackie was dying. She credited Luke for being a good father because she was dying.

Maybe partially, but if Isabel was a bad person, Jackie would never have accepted her. Regardless, i didnt really hate her, or see her as an awful person. I guess i like characters with faults, makes them more interesting. =)

Well said. It takes a while to relax when another mate is seriously brought into your young children's and your lives, to be with the person you love, and children made in that love. In the end she was still loving her ex and children when she accepted the reality that she would be leaving her children to another woman. She actually saw that the new person was only young and inexperienced, but loveable and caring. That was the start of my tears.

Jackie was definitely an unlikable person for most of the movie due to her bad treatment of Isabel. I understand it's tough to let another women mother your children when you're not there but Jackie was a little too harsh at times.

She was way too harsh on Isabel. Isabel had no experience in being a mother, but she was harmless. You can tell from the beginning of the movie that Jackie and Luke got divorced on bad terms and they still fought with each other. Jackie was definitely jealous because she felt as she were being traded for a younger woman. I see everyones' sides to this, but how can Isabel every feel comfortable around Jackie or in her house.
