Confused about her convincing them to accept her deal

I just watched this on some obscure movie Channel. Did I miss something? Did her boyfriend and the George C. Scott character just accept her deal of giving them the disk and letting her and the little boy go free? Or did the station cut out some scenes that showed them not taking her deal, doing a double cross on them, and having her kill them? I haven't seen the original, but this version just doesn't make sense dramatically. I liked a few things about the movie, but it had a lot of script problems.
