For those who did not like it, at which point did the movie lose you?

Hi folks!

Now, I'm aware that this type of question has probably been asked even on this movie's board, as it has been on other movies but I was nonetheless wondering. For those of you who disliked 'Eye of the Beholder' (1999), at which point did you realize it was a bad movie, from which scene/moment etc? I was wondering, thanks!

When he shot up the car with the blind guy in it.

It seemed like a completely different movie after that. And not in a good way.

At the bus/train station, after the Eye watched Joanna kill some man with his own eyes.

He was acting so weird with Hillary, the computer agent who was his handler. I didn't get why she kept helping him. The Eye was such an ungrateful loser.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

like i said, the scene where jason priestley completely beats up ashley judd. it was so out of character for judd's character to be taken advantage of like that.

It was many years ago so I don't remember any particular scene, but I do remember leaning over to the friend I went with to see this movie somewhere around the 35-40 minute mark and asking her "You getting any of this?". She also was totally confused.
What I do remember vividly is this being the ONLY movie I ever saw where, when it ended, the entire audience collectively said "HUH?!?".

But I imagine the fact that this movie confused you and didn't make sense were not the ONLY factors that make you, and other audiences and critics (it has only about a 10% score on Rottentomatoes for instance) for that matter, dislike it, right?

I for one didn't like it either. But as for it making no sense for me it wasn't my biggest problem with it.

Many of David Lynch's and Alfred Hitchcock's films (and surprisingly enough, Eye of the Beholder has shades of both) often make little to no sense to me but I still highly appreciate them.

But this was mostly rather boring. And unbelievable. Not particularly clever or original either. Very slow and plodding. With poor performances, dull script and plodding direction. And some moments very silly too (example when she kills that guy with curtains wide open and goes out to wash the blood in rain).

The movie never lost me. The filmmaking is expert and kinetic, producing a haunting, hypnotic effect. It may not be great, but it is very good, not to mention underrated.
