My review

I just made a review of the movie after I saw it. So, if you are interested in what I thought about it, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AYnVk7wYOQ

Just curious, but did you do this for a class or something? You don't sound as though you had much interest in it from the start (no offense).

Thanks

No, I have watched a lot of movies in my life. So, I am just building a website with all the reviews I had written over the years. It's still a work in progress. I didn't like this movie anyway.

Presentation needs work. Your delivery of your thoughts needs to be better, and we really don't need to see the text of the review on the screen - we can read an article for that. During this one, you actually yawned. Even if you didn't enjoy the movie, you need to be just as clear and articulate about why it wasn't good. It may be even more important when reviewing movies you don't like as when reviewing the ones you do. Maybe even discuss the technical elements that you thought fell short here.

I disagreed with your assessment, I think this retelling of the classic Beowulf has a tremendous amount of energy. The battle scenes were dirty, gritty and more horror than action. They were also lower in scale than many of the more memorable films of the time - which ultimately does not do the film any favors. The supporting cast was relatively underdeveloped, but easy to root for because all of them were likable. I also thought the prayers before the final battle were very moving, and it made this film very distinctive - at the point in the film when the hero usually rises in front of his men to make a speech, Ahmed kneels in the mud and prays to "live the next few minutes well". A powerful moment.

"Long days and pleasant nights!"
