Purchase guns? I guess it's left to our imagination, but when you purchase a firearm they take a LOT of information and back it up with a very detailed background check. How could any of that be provided for the angels.

In the real world, somehow a lot of convicted felons manage to get their hands on guns, even though purchase, possession, and (probably) sale are all illegal. The angels could have stolen the guns, possibly killing the former owners. Maybe the angels even Did Good by taking the guns away from Evil People.

They've been living on earth for more than 1000 years. I think they would have secured assumed identities by then.
