I still can't believe it...

I can't believe that we will never have a sequel to this amazing feature because of Paul Walkers untimely death. I mean they could recast him, but who else would have the same chemistry with the great Steven Van Wormer? No one. I guess we can always have Meet The Deedle and just have the wacky adventures of Stew Deedle on his own? Any thoughts?

You never know, these days there are all kinds of post-mortem performances. Remember Marlon Brando's head in the Superman remake? I for one am looking forward to a CGI Paul Walker in the sequel to Meet the Deedles, to be titled Little Deedles (formerly Meet the Deedles Again, which was originally titled Meet the Deedles a Second Time As If You'd Never Met Them The First Time) and featuring the Deedles attempting to raise babies in the Yellowstone Park climate. I am confident they will have no trouble casting babies who have experience working with virtual performances so that CGI Paul Walker will have the very best scene partners in these kids (not to count out the terrific Steven Van Wormer, of course!)

I've never heard of this 'Su-per-man' or this 'Mar-lon Bran-do' but I'll look for them in my Columbia-TriStar VHS Catalog later. But the idea of a CGI Phil Deedle just doesn't work for me. Call me old school, but i like my effects practical... hmmm... what about a full life size animatronic puppet of Paul Walker? I think that would be easier for the audience to accept. And easier for the great Steven Van Wormer to act against (Not that he needs it, i mean his scene stealing work in Bubble Boy as 'Mark's Friend' is some of the finest acting ive seen that year. Talk about a classic case of a performance getting another stakeouted.)

But i think that works better than CGI. But thats just my opinion.

Dude, what are you talking about? A muppet Paul Walker? You mean like from Jim Henson Studios? Why would you reduce the brilliant physicality of a genius like Paul Walker to some felt and wires? Did you even see Tammy and the T-Rex?! CGI is the way to go. Look at Jeff Bridges in TRON: Legacy. His performance would have been greatly improved if they had used CGI to make a younger version of him, but instead they went with a puppet and it ruined the whole movie. They should have called that movie FAIL: Legacy!

Sorry, I got really aggressive there. I don't want to spoil the perfection that is Meet the Deedles with my negativity. I hear there is a rare underground Criterion Edition, but you can't get your hands on it in stores or even through third party sellers. It was only given to the cast and crew of the film, plus one copy went to the vault in the International Museum of Surf Comedies and Movies Featuring Dancing Rodents Institute. Supposedly there is commentary by Steven Van Wormer (amazing that he took time out of his busy schedule to revisit an old classic) and a hilarious deleted scene where the Deedles enter an eating contest and get macaroni all over themselves! I really wish someone would put it online, but I have not been able to find it on all the major sites like Geocities and Altavista.

Did I see Tammy and the T-Rex? This guy comes on the internet MOVIE database and asks a film lover if they have watched Tammy and the T-Rex? Of course i seen that instant classic masterpiece like 12 times in the theatres back in 1994. Maybe you should go to to Yahoo Movie forums if you're going to ask stupid questions. But i've never seen the Tron movies, or many of Jeff Bridges work. I mean i found Arlington Road as funny as the next person but I'm more of a Beau Bridges fan myself. Honky Tonk Freeway doesn't get as much credit as it should.

As for this Criterion Edition, it is very rare. Or as Phil Deedle would say, it's kind of like a "Deedle in a haystack." to find a copy. And I agree, the wonderful Steven Van Wormer to do a commentary track is quite rare. He's like the Daniel Day Lewis of our generation with his limited roles... or shall i say, Day Lewis is the Van Wormer of our generation. Think about it. But yes, to get my hands on that Criterion dvd would look very nice in between my copy of 3D 'Solo' Bluray combo pack and my complete dvd series set of Daddio starring Michael Chiklis. Man, the things i would do for the Meet the Deedles Criterion dvd set, you don't want to know.

P.S. Sorry for the yahoo movies comment. It was uncalled for. But i get so angry sometimes, kind of like how angry Frank SLater gets in Meet the Deedles. (RIP Dennis Hopper :(
