Anyone else not liking the dad much?

I know he's a single dad under pressure, but he comes off a very immature for one thing.
Second, the throwing away of the kid's Man-O-War seemed mean-spirited and unnecessary.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

Try being a single dad; I think he was doing an admirable job of a thankless task called parenthood.

Having known several single fathers with custody, I would say he doing a really good job. Parenthood does have its rewards. Being in a group like Parents Without Partners does help.
