This movie I think was a very good movie. It was also funny at times and very sad at others. It showed a town and man's determination to stop the river water from being contaminated with poisons. The town had lost many children to a very harmful cancer and all they wanted was an appology. The lawyer ended up spending millons of dollars on just the one case. His helpers in the law firm began to get fed up with him and left the firm. The lawyer was on his own. One day he was able to find out something that he hadn't known before. In the end the companies that were poluting the water got closed down and the lawyers on the opposite team had their jobs taken away from them. I think that the movie ended really weird, it pretty much dropped off. That was the only part that I didn't really like or understand. Over all this moive made me think is there anything in my water that I drink?

This movie really does make you think about exactly what is in our drinking water. And is it at all making us have diseases of any kind?

I felt the same way about the movie. It was a very good movie to watch and it did make me start to wonder what could be in my drinking water. I did feel very sad for the towns people as did Jan, and i thought it was brave of him to risk everything he had to try and get an appology for these people.

This was pretty good. It did take a lot of hard work and detication from those lawyers and I thought it was pretty risky that they would give all there money to this one little case. I also thought it was weird how the movie just dropped off. It seemed very sudden. I felt like there should be something more to the ending. After this movie, it does make you think twice about any water you drink.

the town lost their children to Leukemia not cancer and the families each got only 300 for their losses.

Great summary I like that you gave your opinion at the end. It shows that you actually wanted to see how the story turned out in the end. You cared!

alex i think u should be a movie critic person.. "This movie I think was a very good movie. It was also funny at times and very sad at others." simply beautiful.. i agree the ending of the movie coulda been better.. but it was already really good because it had john travolta in it.. haha my answer is yes.. there are many deadly chemicals in the water u drink.. this could be why u have trouble remembering to breathe.. well peace..

the movie ended fine. it showed that he lost everything and that money wasnt everything. it showed he had more than life than possesions. thats what the ending meant.

Well, you didn't understand the movie quite well. You were right about the plants getting closed down, but the lawyers didn't lose their jobs. After the lawsuit, Jan send everything that he collected for the case to EPA. EPA has the authority to force the corps to clean up the site regardless of whether the corps in fact caused the kids' leukimia or not. The only proof that EPA need to provide is that the corporations violated EPA statutes, which is already shown by Jan. Jan only failed to show that the chemicals that were dispersed by the corporations reached the water source and the kids got sick because of the chemicals.
