I think that if the leads in this film had been replaced by Michelle Pfeiffer and Johnny Depp, it would be been taken more seriously and could have been nominated for acting awards at the Golden Globes or the Oscars.

shareI believe that you are correct. I would have actually liked to see that by the way. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the film as is and thought they handled their roles nicely but perhaps Johnny and Michelle could have taken it to that next level. What I do like about this cast is that they brought a bit of realism to the roles. Depp and Pfeiffer would have brought a lot of pretty, haha. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing either.
