When Seth tells her to not look at the angel (SPOILERS)

When she was dying, I noticed Seth frantically tells her to not look at her angel. The small dialog between them, I don't know verbatim.. but I'll paraphrase. basically she said it looked so beautiful and then Seth replies "No don't look at him!"
The way his body language and emotion in his eyes gave me an impression that in order for your angel to come take you to the next place , you have to have eye contact with them. I know this is not a huge question but still a question none the less. If true, I wonder why. because i noticed when the little girl died at the beginning, he kept staring at her and right before she passed he looked at her square in the face.

I think it was more of a 'human reflex' statement from Seth. Meaning that it was wishful thinking out loud, sort of like when a child sees or hears something scary they cover their eyes thinking they will be safe if they do.

It also may have been Seth trying to 'stave off' Maggie dying & leaving him just a little while longer.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."
