Impossible to get past all that angel nonsense

I know, what should I really expect from a film with that title, but I simply couldn't take this seriously, not a bit. The whole angel thing was just so preposterous.

I've had a look at some of the other threads on this board, and am genuinely stunned by how many people are saying they believe in angels (sorry if I'm causing offence to any of them). I've seen other films where angels were present or a major part of it and not been so alienated as I was with this, so it's not like it's just a case of me being too entrenched an atheist. This was just too much though. Really surprised at quite how bad the whole thing was. Ultimately pointless, and really quite dull.

Its a film. Not a documentary.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

Er, yeah. I know that. But its' story is just too preposterous for me. A personal thing, as I say, as I can see how much others buy in to the whole premise and believe in angels, and good for them - although I thought those threads were jokes when I first started reading them. But even taking in to account that I'm not a believer, when angels pop up in many other films, or are even the central part of it, I can still go with the film, and enjoy it for what it is. This one was just asking too much of me, though.

Another controversial one about angels for you then - I thought It's A Wonderful Life was a really good film... until the end. Why did they have to go and spoil it with an angel. They could have used any number of other plot devices there. That one issue dragged it down from an 8 rating to a 5 in my estimation.

So then, the bigger question is why did you even bother watching the film, if you think the whole concept behind angels is ridiculous?🐭

It's a movie about an angel that falls in love with a human. You know that the angel was a main character. What did you expect?

you can take every thing symbolically if you're smart, but after all you're just an atheist.

i mostly will not be able to answer your reply, since marissa mayer hacked my email, no notification

O c'mon it's not really the movie, you just want to use it as a platform to preach to others on your lack of belief.

^ This, cubed.

"To each their own" they always say. The idea of having someone watch over you and making sure you and your family is always comforting to think. And also how dying can seem dark and grim. But thinking about seeing a love one who has already passed away, or a guarding angel coming to greet you and take you to...where ever is also a nice thought. Make it into a movie and add a love story to it, BAM! Hollywood film. To think it then see it, it probably was never something some people think about
