The same plot as the movie ¡Three Amigos!

The plot is the same as ¡Three Amigos! .
Bug's Life used the same common plot.

Carmen/ Flik look for tough warriors outside of their cities to help their community from bad guy El Guapo/ Hopper and their gangs.

The ones they find misunderstand and both think they are hired for performances.
When they are found out for what they really are,the so called warriors leave in disgrace.
They return when Ned/ Flik deliver a speech to them telling them they have what it takes to be real warriors/heroes .

The town/colony both devise elaborated deceiving plots by building or making objects to beat the villains.
In the end ,the so called warriors live up to their hype and deliver as heroes .
This inspires the entire city/colony to stand up united to El Guapo/ Hopper and drive their gangs out. The lead villains are both killed.

The so called warriors leave happy heroes .

Any other similarities I missed?

Yes, to a degree, but the origin is a take on Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, right? Three Amigos took that same idea.

Another take on Seven Samurai is The Magnificent Seven.

Kurosawa's films were the basis for many films (A Fistfull of Dollars was such a direct copy of Yojimbo, Kurosawa successfully sued Leone and ended up making more from the percentage of the profits than he did from the release of his film)

My second line is common plot.
I realize others have used this common plot before The Three Amigos.
& who can really say where the common plot origin really comes from.
Seven Samurai could have gotten it from another movie/play or book....

From the Seven Samurai wiki page:

"According to Michael Jeck's DVD commentary, Seven Samurai was among the first films to use the now-common plot element of the recruiting and gathering of heroes into a team to accomplish a specific goal, a device used in later films such as The Guns of Navarone, Sholay, the western remake The Magnificent Seven, and Pixar's animated film A Bug's Life."

It is considered the origin of that style, which was then taken by Magnificient Seven and A Bug's Life along with countless other movies and TV stories.

wiki page-lmao
Ok, you made your point , twice.
You read somewhere Seven Samurai did the plot before.
From your own wiki(lol) quote, from a DVD commentary(ahem),Seven Samurai was among the first films to use the now-common plot element . Was AMONG.

This is about the similarities between Bug's Life and The three amigos.
NOT the untraceable origin of this COMMON plot.

I'm sure you still get your comic book guy/ movie "expert" guy points ...

Please don't reply anymore on my thread.
You have more than enough room on IMDB to troll and add to your more than 15k comments over ANOTHER decade.

Happy trails .....

I know I am years late on this thread, and you may not even be on your IMDb account anymore. But, I have just decided to show my daughter The Three Amigos, and when she asked me what it was about, it struck me that it was the same storyline as A Bugs life, and it was definitely something she could relate to. I came here to see if it was being discussed, and realised I'm very late to the party! Haha

While I was watching, it really reminded me of the Three Amigos plot. I still think the films are pretty different, as A Bug's Life has the whole insect world contributing to the story.
