Sirens of Titan Movie?

I know that Robert Weide and Kurt Vonnegut had a handshake agreement to do a movie of Vonnegut's novel "Sirens of Titan," does anybody know anything concrete about it? A little interesting piece of trivia about this is that Jerry Garcia (Yes, the Grateful Dead Jerry Garcia) owned the movie rights for a while, but he died before the movie was made and Vonnegut retained the rights.
