The One That Got Away (1996) (TV), is 1000times better then this *film*

I love sean, but let's face it, The One That Got Away (1996) (TV) was a MUCH better adaption, more true/real to the story...

Bravo Two Zero (1999), front cover looks cheesy as hell

Hollywoood tried to make it realstic?!?!?

Also it had a much tighter budget, yet it looked/acted much better...

And once again, bean is marked being the lead actor, sad since the tv version was a better movie but no hollywood names attached to the front cover...

If you want a hollywoodfied version go for flick with sean

Or if your like me and wan't a more realistic view, go for the tv version... Is it out on dvd!??!?!

I havn't seen The One That Got Away nor I have read any of the books but I do know a few facts about this film:

"Bravo Two Zero (1999), front cover looks cheesy as hell"

Does that really matter?

"Hollywoood tried to make it realstic?!?!?"

It wasn't made by hollywood it was made by the BBC on a budget of 6 million pounds which nothing compared to hollywood movies like the island which had a budget of 125 million dollars

"And once again, bean is marked being the lead actor, sad since the tv version was a better movie but no hollywood names attached to the front cover... "

Bravo two zero is a TV movie meaning it wasn't released in any cinema and Sean Bean is an excellent actor and out of the whole cast he is the only known actor in countries such as america and since he is 90 of the scenes of course is marked as the lead actor

"more true/real to the story"

I wouldn't know TBH, I hear some of the other books based on the BTZ mission put the Mcnab's and Ryan's book to shame for various reasons

Interesting facts, of course Sean Bean is great, I love him. What I meant was, this film will get more credit then "the one that got away". Are you sure this is one is a tv movie as well? Normally theatrical versions are marked "tv" on imdb, but this one??

"I wouldn't know TBH, I hear some of the other books based on the BTZ mission put the Mcnab's and Ryan's book to shame for various reasons"

No offense or anything, but that auther (can't remember his name) is a wanker, trying to discredit the team if you ask me, the book is called "the real bravo two zero" if your interested...

I saw the tv version (1996) first, maybe that's why I like it a lot more.. But it has better music, more realistic views (shot on handheld in som scenes), I wouldn't say better actors since bean is a great one, but somehow it's just a better view...

But BTZ follows Andy's path while's The one that got away, is following chris ryan's long walk, so I guess you could say it's 2 different movies in a way eh :P

theres always been a big argument and rumours that andy mcnab and chris ryan didnt get along and that they lied or over exaggeratd some parts of there mission. some of the other members who also wrote books also say other things happened that mcnab or ryan didnt account for so who knows

I know that in The One That Got Away, the equipment the actors used didn't even exist at the time. I mean optical sights that weren't invented, rigs that weren't produced, and tactics that are far from what I would do in real life. Even Chris Ryan himself was disappointed by the film.

Bravo Two Zero is far more realistic than the abovementioned film.

A mate of mine is a close friend of Mike Coburn, otherwise known as "Mark". He's got the real story out.

Hmmm - I must be mis-remembering my adolesence here. I definately saw both of these (I thought in the mid-late 90s) on TV and I thought I saw Bravo Two Zero first and then The One That Got Away later. I guess it must've been a repeat (although I remember thinking it was newly out at the time) weird! I could have sworn BTZ came out first.

Anyway, I wouldn't say that The One That Got Away had a lesser star!!! Paul McGann man, that's not at all bad.
