Marty tries to take the kids

Marty returns to the bungalow to take his kids to no avail. He’s upset and Danny and Alison are afraid of their father’s manic collection of them. Alison runs away and Pearl takes Danny back into the cabin.

Here’s a twist – what if Marty takes Lillian back to Brooklyn with him?

Marty yells to Pearl “OK, you want the kids? You want to be a mother? Fine, then Bubbie and I are going. You be their mother.”

Pearl wouldn’t be able to foist her kids on Lillian to frolic with the blouseman. With Lillian gone, Pearl would have to be a real mother, cook every meal, do all the laundry and wash all the dishes. She'd have to watch Danny all day and be there at night when her children slept. Maybe the blouseman would sneak into her room when the kids were asleep. Perhaps Pearl could ask Ronda to watch the kids so she could smoke dope and boink the blouseman. Lillian being there has enabled Pearl to tryst without worrying about her children.
