The New Blade probably won't be anywhere as good

No r rating and on top of that its likeky gonna rely heavily on cgi and stunt work. Sometimes i miss these days. Ali will almost be 50 when his movie comes out.

reply

Is that still happening?

reply

They're looking for writers. Just get Jordan Peele and call it a day.

reply

Blade with no R rating would be a non-starter. Vampires and vampire hunting without violence and gore? Nope.

reply

It will proabbly be more campy compared to the og blade movie too. I doubt Disney will make it anywhere as gory. Snipes had to fight for his version of Blade to get made

reply

What are they going to do? Cut away every time he makes a kill?

reply

Well, they can stay with the glittering, dissolving bodies for the fight scenes. And no blood for neck biting scenes. But a vampire movie without blood is like a romance movie with no kissing.

reply

EW.

i won't even give this a chance.
no, Sir.

reply

I’m just hoping it gets made soon.

reply

It sure isn't. If they set this movie in the 70s and really embraced the comic, it could be awesome. But they ain't gonna do that. I expect this to be a watered down remake of the Snipes films.

reply

I hate reboots and there is no way this is going to replace a classic.
Why bother?

reply

WHY a new blade???

reply

would be shocked if MCU Blade goes with an R/18 rating (esp after all the Twilight vampire movies were PG13) and even if it did theres no way itd be as gritty/hardcore/badass/real/non PC as Blade 98.

no. fucking. way

I read reports that Disney was considering movies rated 'R' within the Marvel world. It was in connection with the next Deadpool movie... they don't want to mess with a successful formula.

If they go that route, they could put Blade and The Punisher into that category.

I wonder though...does that mean that these characters could never appear in the broader MCU alongside the MCU Classic characters? Or that there would be two 'versions' of these characters... the gritty R-rated version for standalone movies, and the kinder, gentler version that appears in family-based MCU movies?

reply

yeh they said Deadpool will stay R. if Blade is R and they want him (or DP) in Avengers my guess is it'll just be a minor role or fun cameo like when Magento and Charles visited Wolverine in First Class

reply

Yeah, I could see that.

They mutter a quick "mutherf...", camera cuts away quickly a la Nick Fury in Infinity War.
