What happened to Curtis Webb?

Why did he become a vampire-zombie hybrid instead of a regular vampire?

The only explanation that is given is that sometimes it happens when a Vampire infects a human. Since Blade is based of a biological vampiric origin, as in its equivalent to a virus, I'm guessing certain humans have might have a stronger immune resistance to the infection, making the transformation process go awry and turning them into zombie like vampire, instead of a complete one. That my hypothesis.

I think it was in the way he was bitten. Quinn tore off a chunk of flesh from his neck while draining some of his blood. Quinn survived being burned alive and given that he was very burnt up, a lot of the germs and bacteria surrounding him made it's way into Curtis Webb's wound. Once his bloodstream got infected more than ever, that's how he became a vampire-zombie hybrid.

I know not everyone bitten would turn into that type of vampire since not all vampires were burnt to a crisp like Quinn, and there are more inexplicable causes, but I feel this one theory would be best for now.

Marvel had/had a zombie character very similar to Curtis Webb. I remember seeing the character in one of their marvel handbooks. I cannot search of the character because I forgot his name & marvel zombies is ruining the results.
